Edit testing

With the film we had we did a test edit for how we can edit the opening sequence and what effects we can use on it. Thanks to this we now know what we are doing when we edit and will be able to do it quicker and will not need to do any more experimenting with effects.

Filming schedule muck up

Our original filming schedule had us filming the opening scene last week on Tuesday the 6th but we had a problem with one of our actors who could not make it and we couldn't find a backup actor. So it was changed to filming the opening sequence which was a last minute arrangement. We then couldn't film for the rest of the week due to an unexpected arrangement.
When have now had to got to a back up plan that involves filming in the same week as editing. We will film the rest of the film we need on two days (Tuesday the 13th and Wednesday the 14th) and then use the remaining two days to edit our film.

Age Ratings

We decided to make our film a 15 because it will allow our main target audience (16-24) to watch the film and may also encourage them because they know it must have horror elements they like or it would be a lower rating e.g. gore and swearing.
The film is this rating also because the content, images and social issues would be inappropriate for younger audiences.

Music

Music in Horror/Thrillers and usual suspenseful to build the audiences anticipation making the pay off or scary moment more frightening or enjoyable.
 (Opening to se7en)
Some Horror films use uncountable music which makes the audience feel uneasy and the adds more fear. Se7en uses a very uncountable song in it's opening sequence and this added with the unpleasant images that appear make the scene feel more suspenseful.

Other films use music to make scenes more unexpected and scarey by having the music start when something happens and the music will play loudly and sound frantic. In Psycho the music for the shower scene doesn't start until the murder is in the shower and when it dose it's loud and fast and makes the audience jump and makes the kill more terrifying.
